The Mods and Rockers may have gone down in history for different sorts of battles on the beaches.
But York Scooter Club teamed up with Ryedale Motorcycle Club to help D-Day veterans return to Normandy for the 70th anniversary of the landings.
The scooter enthusiasts raised £215 by taking part in an annual Mods and Rockers charity run with the motor cyclists.
The cheque was handed over to the Normandy Veterans’ Association at The Walnut Tree pub in Heworth.
The scooter club has been associated with the Veterans since 2010 and during that time have raised over £3,000 for them.
