A CHARITY weekend in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support is being staged over Easter at the Crystal Palace pub in Holgate Road, York.
Landlord Gerry Jackson said a raffle today had more than £500 worth of prizes donated by local businesses, while a charity auction tomorrow had services donated by regulars and locals, including two days painting and decorating by a professional, a full spring clean, car valet and wash and polish, a full days gardening and a free design consultation from Plaskitt & Plaskitt.
An Easter egg competition will be staged on Sunday and there will also be the opportunity to ‘water bomb’ the landlord, dressed as ‘Scuba Steve, at a charge of £1 for a water balloon.
