TEN Sainsbury’s workers will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK and RSPCA York.
Employees from the Sainsbury’s store located on Blossom Street have been training hard since January to travel over the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough on April 26.
Charity Coordinator for the store, Hannah Pratt, 23, Clifton said: “I like doing personal challenges – I’m walking the Great Wall of China next year - and everyone taking part is really up for it.
“We’ve never done anything like this and it’s great to see people you wouldn’t expect stepping up to the challenge.”
“We’ll be supporting the shop’s chosen charity RSPCA York as well as Cancer Research UK. We all know people that have been affected by cancer in some way and we hope to raise as much money as possible for both of these causes”.
A couple of non-colleagues will also be taking part including Hannah’s dad, John Pratt, 57 who will be leading the way.
Hannah is currently taking in-store donations for the event.
