GIANT sunflowers are being prepared for the St Leonard’s Hospice Sunflower Ball at York Racecourse next month.
During the evening a Grand Prize Draw offers six winners a two night stay in a Best Western Hotel.
The evening will also include a "money can't buy" silent auction, a Charity Casino, and an Instagram photo booth.
Helen Williams of the Sunflower Ball’s organising committee said: "With the help of Best Western and all our many other sponsors, we know that this year’s Sunflower Ball is going to be bigger, brighter and even more fun than before – and will raise lots of money for the vital work of the Hospice in caring for local people and their families."
Tickets for the ball on Saturday, May 10 cost £85 include a champagne reception, a four-course dinner with coffee, and evening of entertainment, music by dance band Happy Hour and breakfast.
