Hospice funds boosted by teacher’s dinner
MORE than £1,100 was raised for the Martin’s House Children’s Hospice in Boston Spa by an event organised by York-based teacher Martin Halliday.
The assistant head of studies (vocational) at York College arranged a special fund-raising dinner for the Hospice at Fairhursts Bistro in Middleham which is run by one of Halliday’s former York College students, Guy Fairhurst.
The fund-raising dinner included an auction and sealed envelope bids for various sports and social events, plus several items of sporting memorabilia.
