WITH Mother’s Day this weekend, mums and daughters throughout the city are being encouraged to sign up to the Race for Life to spend quality time with each other and say thank you in a different way this year.
Women can walk, jog or run either the 5k or 10k Race for Life event, held at York Racecourse.
Race for Life event manager for Yorkshire, Philippa Sharpe, said: “The feel-good factor that comes from being part of the formidable army of women ready to show cancer who’s boss will last far longer than the more traditional Mother’s Day gift of chocolates and flowers.
“We are urging women in York to give their mums the gift of time this Mother’s Day by signing up to Race for Life together.”
