Phil Wiggins’ fundraising challenge
8:51am Monday 28th October 2013 in Fundraising fun
A York charity fundraiser is to celebrate turning 40 by running, cycling and swimming 4,000 miles in the 12-month countdown to his next birthday.
Phil Wiggins, of Beech Grove, Acomb, decided to set himself the challenge of raising as much money as he could for the Alzheimer’s Society by completing 11 miles a day every day for a year.
He has called the challenge The Wiggo 4000 after his nickname and has set up a justgiving page.
Yearsley Swimming Pool and Energise have already offered him free use of their facilities until he reaches the finish line.
