Venetian evening to raise funds for National Centre for Early Music bursary scheme
10:53am Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in Fundraising fun
FUNDRAISERS are being invited to take their partners to enjoy the magic of eighteenth century Venice – and help start the ball rolling for budding music-lovers dreaming of careers on stage or behind the scenes.
The National Centre for Early Music in Walmgate, York, is launching a Student Bursary Scheme to help young people of all ages and backgrounds overcome the high tuition costs which may keep them out of the spotlight.
Celebrating the occasion will be a Venetian Extravaganza evening of mystery, magic, dance and music on Friday November 29 at 7pm, featuring a wealth of a talent from York and York St John Universities and Leeds College of Music, the flagship Minster Minstrels youth ensemble, and others.
Performers from the Nonsuch Dance Company will lead the dancing and guests are invited to come in Venetian dress with masks, or dinner jackets and colourful evening dresses.
