A YORK charity is due to receive an award from the Duke of York.

Accessible Arts & Media (AAM) is due to receive the the Duke of York Community Initiative Award for its community work.

More than 250 people in and around York take part in AAM projects for vulnerable groups which aim to push boundaries and raise expectations of what people can do to challenge stereotypes.

Its singing and signing choir, Hands And Voices, will perform at the royal reception at the Merchant Taylors Hall on December 5.
