A YORK fitness instructor plans to hula hoop her way around the city walls to raise the awareness of the different ways people can exercise.
On December 12, which will be World Hoop Day, Sarah Greenslade aims to make her way around the walls continually spinning the hoop.
Sarah said: “I’m used to doing silly things in public. I always get interesting responses from hooping. It will be fun.
“I want people to know there’s lots of fun fitness activities out there. It can be daunting to go to different classes.
“It would be nice to get people to set themselves a challenge to do something different.”
Sarah said the benefits of hula hooping were that it was low impact, good for posture and fun.
She holds hula-hooping classes in Haxby Road Primary School from 7pm to 8pm on Wednesdays and at Park Grove Primary School from 7.30pm to 8.30pm on Fridays.
