York butchers sport moustaches for Movember appeal

CUSTOMERS at a York butchers are in for a treat this month.
Two members of staff at Richardson’s of Woodthorpe are taking part in Movember and growing their facial hair to raise cash for research into prostate cancer.
The owner, Martin Richardson, and colleague Chris Brotton, are hoping their moustaches will inspire men to go for regular health check-ups. Mr Richardson is not aiming for an exact target, but says the response from his customers has been very good.
His motivation derives from knowing close friends with prostate cancer who, after having an early check-up, fought off the disease. Mr Richardson is hoping for a moustache that he can twist, but admitted that his efforts hadn’t gone unnoticed and he had ‘‘had some stick’’ from friends.
