St Leonard’s Hospice in York is asking people to seek out any spare bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates or any unwanted gifts which can be donated to help stock their Christmas fair.

The festive fair raises much-needed funds for the work at St Leonard’s, and it relies on donations of gifts to sell or giveaway as prizes in its tombolas and other competitions.

Sue Miller, fundraising manager at the hospice, said: “Our supporters are very generous in providing for the fair, but we could always do with more, to help raise extra funds.

“If anyone can spare a bottle or two, a box of chocolates or anything else we can use as a prize, or sell on one of our stalls, we’d be really grateful.”

This year’s Christmas fair will take place on Saturday, December 1, from 1pm to 4pm.
