Time to start training for British Heart Foundation Santa Jog
11:13am Thursday 1st November 2012 in Fundraising fun

IF you were out and about in York yesterday you would have had a jolly big surprise as a group of Santas were spotted jogging, stretching and exercising around the York St John University Campus.
The students were practising for the upcoming annual British Heart Foundation (BHF) York Santa Jog, taking place on Sunday, December 9, at York Racecourse.
Organiser Vicky Hearson, of BHF York, said: “The York Santa Jog is a fantastic, fun event to be part of and registration is now open.
“This year the event is extra special as it moves to a new home, York’s Knavesmire. Seeing hundreds of Santa Claus’ jogging along the Knavesmire’s circulate pathway will be a sight to behold. This year we’re encouraging everyone to register in advance to save their place.
“This year there are two routes – a 5k or a 2k and the option of running, jogging or walking the course, the event is suitable for all ages and abilities.”
The York Santa Jog takes place on the racecourse, near Knavemire Road. The 2k starts at 10.30am and the 5k at 11am. There will also be a fancy dress competition for the children at 10.15am followed by a warm up. Entry is £9 for adults before Friday, December 2 or £10. Children pay £2. All adults receive a free Santa suit and children are encouraged to dress in their favourite festive costume.
