Christmas shopping rail trip in aid of York Against Cancer
9:12am Wednesday 31st October 2012 in Fundraising fun
YORK-BASED rail company Grand Central has provided a Christmas shopping return train to London in aid of a local charity.
York Against Cancer, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, will take ticket sales to help care for patients living with cancer.
The train will run on a direct and therefore quick journey, leaving York at 8.26am, to arrive at 10.33am on December 1, and then depart from London at 7.10pm to be home for 9pm. The standard class fare is £40.
Sean English, general manager of Grand Central, said: “Grand Central is delighted to be able to support York Against Cancer in its silver anniversary year, and help with raising the significant funds it needs to maintain the high level of care it provides to many cancer patients and their families in North Yorkshire.
“The community is an important factor to both our organisations, and I am pleased that Grand Central is able to contribute in such a significant way.”
Tickets can be bought from the York Against Cancer office in Huntington on 01904 764466.
