STAFF at a York clothing store have been tearing a sponsored strip off one of their colleagues to raise money for charity.

Nervous volunteer Dave Hall gritted his teeth to have his chest waxed as part of a drive to help the Teenage Cancer Trust, which saw Topshop and Topman and Fenwicks in the Coppergate Centre team up for the good cause.

Beauticians from Fenwick helped 22-year-old Dave go through the pain barrier on Saturday as part of a weekend of fundraising activity organised by Topshop store manager Triona Tootle, which also involved her team wearing fancy dress for work and supporting a local car boot sale on Sunday where the brand’s clothes were sold in aid of the Trust’s work.

Triona said: “All the staff want to raise as much as possible and everybody is getting right behind the fundraising, which is brilliant.”
