Sally and Mick Arnup Exhibition
Sally and Mick established their studios in Holtby in 1960, after they had both qualified at the Royal College of Art in London. They built up the studios and pottery at Holtby over many years, creating a unique environment for both family life and work.
Mick built an impressive oil-fired kiln that was so large it often took 6 months to fill with his decorated stoneware pottery which resonated with vigorous decorations. Mick spent the last five years of his life returning to his first love, painting. Mick died in 2008.
Sally devoted most her artistic life to working with animals, whether these were domestic, farm or from the wild. She was renowned the world-over for her observational skills and attention to detail. Sally died in December 2015, leaving an impressive legacy of work.
The Arnup family are hosting an exhibition and sale at The Studios of the work by the late Sally and Mick Arnup.
Sculpture, painting, pottery and sketches. A unique opportunity to see this collection of works.
