CHILDREN and grown ups at a primary school are delighted with an Enid Blyton-inspired magic door that links a reception classroom to the new nursery.

The small door was designed by St George's RC Primary School head teacher Dee Statham in honour of her favourite children's author.

She said the builders were quite surprised when they were asked to work on building the little door but that children and staff love it.

Mrs Statham said: “I wanted a way of linking the reception class and the nursery and it was obvious to me that we needed a magic door set into a tree. I never use the big people door now. The children love it and parents say the nursery is a real home-from-home."

The nursery is run by fully qualified teachers and provides childcare for youngsters from the age of three, between 7.30am and 6pm.

There is also an outdoor play area for children. A nursery open day takes place on May 23 and for more information call 552440
