A TRIO of hospitality students from York College are through to the national heat of the Nestlé Professional Toque d’Or 2018.

The team - Soraya Mason who is studying for a professional chef diploma), Sophie Jordan who studies patisserie and confectionery and Chrysanthi Frakoulaki who wants to become a professional chef are taking part in the most prestigious hospitality competition which attracts more than 50 entries from colleges across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The national competition, set in two locations across four days, will consist of a master class from both front and back of house industry experts, at which students will be shown a three course meal, wine and service. "The competition provides exciting challenges to get the very best out of students and it is renowned for promoting the highest industry standards.
