TWO students from York College have secured work and a placement on an undergraduate scheme with a multi-national property and infrastructure company.

Yasmin Copeland, 19, formerly of Holy Family Catholic High School, Carlton, and Charlie Fothergill, formerly of Brayton High School, have secured sponsorship and employment with Lendlease Construction, who will pay them a bursary whilst studying at Northumbria University and guarantee them jobs at the end of their studies.

They are studying a Level 3 extended diploma construction and the built environment course and have secured two out of the available nine places on the firm’s undergraduate scheme, preparing them for work in the construction industry.

Charlie said: “Having the backing of Lendlease throughout my studies and beyond is just amazing – for me it’s the icing on the cake.”
