YOUNGSTERS at a York school have been given a gift to help improve bird life on the grounds.
The efforts of pupils at Millthorpe School birding club have been rewarded with a donation of bird boxes, feeding stations and accessories worth more than £100 which have been given by Wyevale Garden Centre in Upper Poppleton, to enhance the work the birding club are doing.
Mike Norton of Wyevale Garden Centre said: “It is a pleasure to help pupils develop their love and interest in birding.
“The grounds of Millthorpe School are a great environment for birds and I’m sure that these resources will be put to good use.”
