PUPILS at St Olave’s School in York have raised an impressive £15,502.69 to support a children's neuroscience ward at Leeds General Infirmary.
Amongst other ideas and contributions, the pupils have hosted bake sales, organised sponsored events and taken part in non-uniform days to raise money for the ward, which is nationally recognised for its work in neurological sciences with children.
The whole school community has been getting involved as well, with a grand charity ball organised earlier last year contributing significantly to the final total.
Andy Falconer, master of St Olave’s, said, “St Olave’s has a long history of raising money for good causes, but this total is truly exceptional. The pupils have had great fun in helping to reach it, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Friends of St Olave’s for all their help in galvanising parental support.”
