EXCITING work by fine art students at York St John University has been on show at the city’s newest contemporary art space.
The 41 young artists, all second year students, exhibited their work to the public for the first time in the New Glue show.
The exhibition was staged at the Artemis House Project Space in Heworth Green.
Organisers say it represented a culmination of several months' work, during which the young artists researched their ideas.
Justin McKeown, head of the university’s fine art programme, said: “The students’ work is broad-ranging – from paintings and sculpture to digital media – which means there’s something to suit all artistic tastes. Each of the works offers a fresh and provocative approach to the way in which we might normally think about and view art.”
