STAFF and children at a York nursery are celebrating getting their Investors in People Award.

Happy Jays at Clifton Moor got the award for the sixth time in a row. To be awarded the coveted status is a success for any organisation.

However, to win this for the sixth time is quite an achievement and Happy Jays has done just this – a feat unequalled by any other nursery group in the UK.

Happy Jays opened their first nursery in Boroughbridge in 1996 and the business has grown steadily ever since.

The company now provides care for over 700 children at its nurseries located in Boroughbridge, Scarborough, Harrogate, Batley as well as at Clifton Moor.

Happy Jays currently employs over 130 childcare professionals and this award comes on the back of achieving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted last year.

Nursery manager Gemma Cobb said: “Our aim has always been to provide the best quality childcare available to local parents. To do this requires a firm commitment to continual staff development.”
