A YORK St John professor has been recognised by a national magazine for his contribution to mentoring.

Bob Garvey, professor of business education, won the Lifetime Achievement Award for Contributions to Mentoring at the Coaching at Work Awards 2014.

The judges praised Prof Garvey's proactive and original thinking, and Coaching at Work's editor Liz Hall said: “We are delighted to acknowledge with these awards the high quality of the articles submitted by the winners and those highly commended, and in addition Professor Garvey, who has made so many contributions to the mentoring, and coaching, profession."
