THE hard work and determination of pupils at Tadcaster Grammar School was rewarded at a series of six house celebration evenings.

Pupils gained recognition in various categories including outstanding reports; very good reports; good reports; improvement in behaviour, attitude to learning and homework, progress and high achievement. Tutor awards and inter-house sports awards were also presented, as well as certificates for 100 per cent attendance and those gaining the most house points.

Each evening culminated with the presentation of special awards for exceptional achievement which were as follows:

Award winners included Abby Roberts who won the Citizenship Award, Erin Wilson who won the drama prize and Chloe Collins, who won the industry in maths award.

Presentations were interspersed with musical interludes by vocal and instrumental soloists and there were various dance performances. In his closing comments to parents, visitors and invited guests, out-going head teacher, Geoff Mitchell, paid tribute to all the students.
