England lifted the World Cup in a primary school’s end of year show described as “a roaring success”.
Year six pupils at Huntington Community Primary School performed “Road to Rio” from Monday to Wednesday this week, with head teacher Ann McKeown describing the story as “a quirky take on the World Cup, where thankfully in this version England won”.
The play, which was performed once to the school and three times for the wider community, was planned, written and designed by the pupils, with Mrs McKeown saying she was “very proud of the way the pupils worked as a team to pull it together”.
She said the 64 pupils worked very hard and put their own work in from start to finish and, in particular, praised the singing on offer.
Preparation for the show took about a month from start to finish, including the writing, rehearsing and performing.
