YORK College has awarded three Student of the Year awards to students from different areas of the college.

This year's awards went to Helen Perry for HE/adult student of the year; vocational student of the year went to former Manor CE Academy pupil Ashley Grant and A-level student of the year was given to former Millthorpe student Reman Sadani.

College principal, Alison Birkinshaw presented the students with a trophy saying: "I am delighted to award Student of the Year titles to three really exceptional students. They have proved themselves to be excellent role models and should be congratulated for their contribution to College life.

"Each one of them has fully embraced their studies and been generous with their time in helping others. They are positive and ambitious for the future and will undoubtedly go on to do great things. We are very proud of their achievements - they have made a big impression on York College and the local community."
