STUDENTS at York College celebrated their exam success at an awards ceremony.
The college hosted a special A-Level Awards Evening at the National Centre for Early Music in York, for students who excelled in their studies this year.
Principal Dr Alison Birkinshaw gave an introductory speech and there was also an address by guest speaker Alice Jones, a former A-Level student at the college who is now an assistant producer at the BBC.
Performances were given by York College music students and a vote of thanks was given by John Short, chairman of governors.
Glyn Jones, assistant principal for A-Levels said: “The college is delighted to honour such an excellent group of students who have all inspired and impressed in their different ways.
“They’re wonderful ambassadors for the college and it gives us great pleasure seeing them progress into the next exciting steps in their lives.”
Various local companies sponsored the awards, including The Press.
