MOBILE classrooms will be allowed to stay for five more years at a York secondary school which has been hit by a lack of funding for a new building.

The temporary classrooms were erected at All Saints RC School’s upper site on Mill Mount Lane in 2010 to cope with increasing pupil numbers while the money was sought for permanent facilities.

The school’s governors applied to City of York Council in November for permission to keep the mobile classrooms for longer due to education funding shortages and they will now be allowed to stay, instead of being demolished in February as originally planned.
