Dr Peter Wothers loads gold bars on to the scales to counterbalance Emma’s weight
A YORK schoolgirl is to star in the BBC’s Christmas Lectures.
Emma Hendry, from Bishopthorpe, attended the filming of the famous science lectures in London last week.
University of Cambridge chemist Dr Peter Wothers enlisted Emma’s help to show how much she would be worth if she was made out of gold. Emma sat on a giant scale while gold bars worth about £1.5 million were measured against her.
The 2012 Christmas Lectures will be aired at 8pm on BBC Four on December 26, 27 and 28. The lecture Emma took part in will be aired on December 28.
