Vicar wants camels to star in ‘living Nativity’

A FORMER Press journalist who is now a church minister has appealed for someone to provide three camels to take part in a “living Nativity” at Christmas.

The Rev Matthew Woodcock, formerly of Acomb , wants the animals for the Three Wise Men to ride in on when he stages the event on the square in front of Holy Trinity Church in Hull, where he is a minister.

“I think I’ve already got a donkey and a horse but tracking down a camel in East Yorkshire is proving to be a bit difficult,” he said.

“It is likely to be chaotic and all over the place, but what better way for children to find out about the story of Christmas than with real animals?”
