Council sorts out Christmas parking!

TRANSPORT bosses in York are already putting measures in place to prevent cars getting in the way of late-night Christmas shoppers in the centre of York.

An order extending the period when the city centre will be reserved for pedestrians, covering 6pm to 9pm every Thursday from November 12 to Christmas Eve will be brought into effect, with temporary traffic lights and barriers being used to enforce the rules.

However, emergency vehicles will still be able to access the pedestrianised zone.

Can't we at least have time to moan about how crap the weather is in the summer before we start thinking about Christmas?
