SHOPPERS at York’s Monks Cross have donated presents to ensure children do not go without this Christmas.

The retail park has been running a Give A Gift campaign, with customers invited to pick up a tree hanger from the Information Centre Christmas tree and buy a gift for a child or young person in any of the Monks Cross stores.

The gifts were collected in time for Christmas by representatives of the York Young Carers Association, The Salvation Army and York Women’s Refuge, where almost 30 mothers and children have been spending the festive period.
