A GRANDFATHER has turned his garden into a second home for Santa to raise money for charity.

Trevor Imeson's traditional lights spectacular at his home in Moorgate Plantation, Sessay, takes three weeks to put up but has raised thousands of pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Forces Children’s Trust, which is for children whose parents have been killed in Afghanistan.

Now in it's 16th year, the display features festive illuminations, Christmas trees, reindeer and an alpaca.

The 69-year-old began putting up the decorations at the start of the month with the help of his daughter, Lynda, and six-year-old grandson, Josh.

Mr Imeson said: "My grandson Josh thinks it's absolutely marvellous.

"He recognised the decorations from last year and is in his element this Christmas.

"Everyone likes to come and see what's going on and I've got an alpaca from a friend.

"You can never guess how it's going to go but I would have thought we can raise about £500."

Meanwhile, a house in Templar Way, Brayton has dazzled a neighbourhood with its colourful light show.

Resident Dee Moore, 41, set up the dazzling array of lights to raise cash for St Leonard's Hospice.
