AN animal charity in York is looking to make Christmas purr-fect for its residents.
The York Cats Protection is offering people the chance to sponsor a personalised Christmas bauble on its new tree, and in turn help raise money for the charity.
James Hodgkison, centre manager, said: “We’d like to thank Vertigrow for generously donating this year’s Christmas tree. We hope this will encourage even more people to help out in any way they can, whether through sponsoring a Christmas Bauble or donating much needed cash or food.
“It really doesn’t have to be much, we would be grateful for even the smallest gift. We want people to remember that the cat care here doesn’t stop at Christmas; in fact it’s at this time of year that we are most desperate for help. We are asking people to spare a thought for the cats in our care, like Jingle and Belle, that don’t have loving homes this holiday season.”
Sponsoring a bauble or just donating to the centre is simple and can be done online at www.justgiving.com/YorkCatsProtection or by texting to 70070 with the message: XXCP99 £5
People can also go along to the centre during the opening hours of 11am - 3pm, seven days a week, if they’d like to put the bauble on the tree themselves.
