THE Christmas tree lights have been switched on at York’s Coppergate centre.

The tree forms the centre point of the lights at the centre and each hour the tree comes alive playing music and changing colours.

Centre manager, Sue Anderson-Brown, said: “Shoppers don’t have to wait though. If visitors want to see the light show they can give a donation to Jessie’s Fund and have their own show.

“As well as entertaining our shoppers we also wanted to use the opportunity to help raise money for a great cause.

“Jessie’s Fund is such a wonderful charity bringing music and music therapy to children with additional and complex needs including those in hospices and special schools.”

On Sunday, November 30, from 3pm the centre will also be raising money for Jessie’s fund. There will be a Christmas celebration with singing around the Christmas tree.
