A GRANDFATHER has illuminated his garden and home for the 15th year running, to raise money for charity.

Trevor Imeson, who lives at Moorgate Plantation in Sessay, sets up a massive lighting display every year to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Forces Children’s Trust, which is for children whose parents have been killed in Afghanistan.

Mr Imeson said he had spent two and a half weeks putting up the decorations with his daughter Lynda and five-year-old grandson Josh.

Last year’s display raised about £500.

He said: “Josh loves it, helps out when he comes home from school and carries stuff out. He’d stop out there all night when they’re on, and offers to show people around.

“We buy all the stuff and stand the electricity bill – I dread to think what that will be.”
