North Yorkshire Timber (NYT), an independent timber supplier, has logged another record month's sales of £1.2 million in October.

The Northallerton company reached the £1 million sales mark for the first time in April 2005 and has not looked back. The upturn is accounted for by rapid growth across a number of product ranges, including engineered joists, internal feature doors from around the world, hardwood flooring, machined softwood and hardwood mouldings, cedar cladding and specialist machining and treatment services.

Nick Kershaw, NYT sales and marketing director said: "Our core ranges of softwood carcassing, redwood, sawn and machined hardwood and softwood continue to sell extremely well, but offering a wider range of products has made the difference. Due to our rapidly growing reputation for engineered joist expertise our customers now include large house building companies working on significant developments in Yorkshire and the North-East, as well as national timber suppliers."

The seven-year-old company, which employs more than 110 people, is projecting a turnover of £12.5 million this year.
