Awards success for Spring Espresso coffee shop

A YORK coffee shop has scooped two prizes in awards dubbed the beverage industry’s “Michelin stars”.

Spring Espresso in Fossgate, which was set up by Steve and Tracey Dyson a year ago, claimed the Best Latte accolade and the Five Cup Accreditation – meaning it reached the top standard for drinks quality and presentation, customer service, ambience, cleanliness, range of menu, training and sustainability – at the Beverage Standards Association (BSA) Awards. Steve said: “I feel honoured to win these awards and it’s wonderful to have our hard work recognised.

“I would recommend outlets to enter next year, as it is good practice to have somebody else look at your business, especially a well-respected organisation like the BSA.”

Judges said Spring Espresso was “an atmospheric venue akin to an exclusive club” and said quality and drinks were “at the highest level”.
