A FAMILY of catering entrepreneurs has opened a new gourmet pie shop in Goodramgate, York.

Aaron Baltrunas, of Scunthorpe, said the decided to open Relish in York because of the year-round tourist trade.

He plans to move to the city before Christmas to enable him to grow the business, which sells hot home-made pies and pasties, by staying open later in the evenings.

Aaron has always worked in catering in Scunthorpe, where his father, a chef, has owned a number of restaurants. His mum, Diane, is also helping run the York business.

“We want to build a reputation and let people know we’re here, then once we’ve cracked the day-time trade we hope to employ someone else to do deliveries.

“We also hope to expand the range of foods we do as we grow,” he said.
