A NEW survey has revealed that York-based Autohorn Fleet Services is the fastest growing business in Yorkshire.

Based on figures compiled by Insider, comparing average percentage gain in turnover for the past five years among companies across Yorkshire, the vehicle lease specialist came out on top as the fastest growing.

The business now employs 65 members of staff with a fleet of 2000 cars and a turnover of £23.4 million having started in 1995 as a team of five and a fleet of nine cars.

The recent period of accelerated growth has been achieved as a result of an organisational reshuffle and restructuring of their marketing activities.

The business also cites their heavy investment and innovative approach to digital marketing though their websites flexed.co.uk and clearcarleasing.co.uk as a key reason for success.

Product innovation has also been at the heart of the business having identified a need for flexible, short term leasing.

Speaking of Autohorn Fleet Services’ rapid growth, Scott Jenkins, sales and operations director, said: “We are always looking for new ways to innovate and become more efficient and our recent restructuring has certainly made a big impact on our capacity for growth.

“Our flexible, short term leasing options cater for a gap in the market which, with an uncertain economy, enable our customers to have the flexibility that they desire.

“We are now looking to build on this growth with exciting and ambitious plans for the future.”

The business has plans for further growth with a move to a new head office at Clifton Moor scheduled to begin next year.

The business, which also owns the York Europcar franchise at the Railway Station, anticipates that the move from its current site in Leeman Road will allow it to create an additional 65 full time jobs by 2020 as well as indirectly creating 136 jobs in the local economy by generating wider economic activity.
