AN ONLINE flooring retailer now investing in “bricks and mortar” stores has opened its latest branch in York.
The 3,000sq ft, £100,000 Flooring Superstore at Monks Cross is the fifth store to open in the UK in 2018, following openings in Swindon, Newport, Keighley and Edinburgh, with more to follow later this year.
Flooring Superstore started life as an online business in 2012 but due to its success, the company behind the brand, Connection Retail, then chose to open stores as part of its growth plan.
The opening comes one year after Connection Retail opened a similar sized store for its Direct Wood Flooring brand in Layerthorpe, York.
Store manager Mark Clayton said: “We are delighted to have been able to bring Flooring Superstore to York. The success of our Direct Wood Flooring store was key in us choosing York to open a Flooring Superstore.”
