A YORK company that designs, manufactures and fits out visitor attractions has announced the opening of its latest project in Dubai.

Paragon Creative has completed the first in its new Dig It range of family entertainment centres, designed and developed at its Elvington headquarters.

Dig It Dubai is located in the new The Springs Souk in Dubai, UAE.

Paragon Creative was appointed by Emaar Entertainment LLC to design, build and install the attraction for the 7,000 square foot venue.

The Dig It product is a new children’s interactive “edutainment” play space based on a construction site theme.

A spokesperson for Paragon said: “Children learn how to work together to dig, move, build and create using various means to stimulate their imagination and provide an enriching play experience.

“Suitable for children aged three to 10 years, the attraction is modular in design and can be scaled to any location.”

With education at the heart of Dig It, children can also participate in STEM learning activities and workshops in the designers and makers area. The Dig It design also incorporates retail, catering and reception spaces.

Earlier this month Paragon also announced that it has been appointed to desing and build the new Space Exploration Gallery at the Centre for Life in Newcastle, alongside design partner KCA London.

Announcing the deal Paragon said: “We look forward to working with KCA and Centre for Life in developing this innovative space science experience ahead of its launch in May 2019.”

A listed company on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), Paragon Creative operates under the holding company Paragon Entertainment, which recently reported its full year results for the year ending December 31, 2017.

During the period, which ended with gross profits of £3.45 million, the business completed 50 projects.

Major projects completed included Hunger Games and Area Development at Dubai Parks and Resorts, Little Explorers in Riyadh and Cairo, Egypt Galleries at National Museum of Liverpool, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Centre, National Trust for Scotland, and Walking Dead at Thorpe Park.

Current design and build scheme being undertaken in 2018 include a number of export deals such as the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre, and Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation as well as projects with Hamleys and Euro Disney.
