AN AWARD-WINNING marketing manager will take over as the new head of Visit York next month.
Paul Whiting, who currently works as marketing manager for the JORVIK Group of Attractions (run by York Archaeological Trust), will replace Sally Greenaway on August 6, when she leaves the tourism organisation for a new role.
Mr Whiting led the marketing team who delivered the multi-award-winning ‘Return of the Vikings’ campaign to re-launch JORVIK Viking Centre in April 2017, and previously worked for Visit York from 2009 to 2013.
Mr Whiting said: “This is an incredible opportunity to continue promoting York to the world. The city has so much to offer visitors and I’m excited at the prospect of working with the team at Visit York and the wider tourism partners to showcase everything on offer through innovative marketing. I have relished my time promoting the work of York Archaeological Trust and I look forward to continuing to work with them and all tourism businesses.”
