WINNING two major contracts for housebuilding projects in York has played its part in the accelerated growth of a North Yorkshire developer and the expansion of its team.

Newby now has more than £40 million of construction projects secured and in turn has welcomed 10 new staff in recent months.

In under a year, the developer, based at Newby Hall, between York and Ripon, has expanded its team from 16 to 26 to support the “exceptional progress” across its development portfolio.

Newby’s current construciton projects cover four sites acrossYorkshire; Ryedale House in York’s Piccadilly where 70 apartments are to be built, Springfield Court in Harrogate, Glasshouses Mill in the Yorkshire Dales and West House Gardens in Birstwith. The combined projects results in a GDV (gross development value) of more than £100 million for private sale.

With a number of further schemes in the pipeline from proposals submitted for 425 new homes on the former Nestle factory site at Cocoa Works in York to Quayside West, a sustainable, new urban village of 1,500 homes in Newcastle, the company is well placed for further growth.

Newby has strengthened its sales and marketing team the appointment of Francesca Wright as marketing manager and new sales manager Ben Roberts.

Newby’s Construction division has also seen the appointment of four new team members, including two development managers, a both a senior and junior quantity surveyor. The office support staff has also grown to support the management teams.
