A YORK estate agent who retired from one of the city’s biggest brands last year is back with the launch of his own business.

Paul Atkinson has launched Bishops Personal Agents in response to what he describes as a changing local market.

After working in York’s estate agency industry for more than a decade, Mr Atkinson said he has seen the city’s estate agents evolve as the new online agents get more popular, giving vendors and buyers a much needed one to one service.

He said: “I want to offer something more than your usual high street or online agent.

“I’m moving away from the corporate, high street, style of estate agency and offer people a more flexible and straight forward modern service.

“I am passionate about York, the area I have always both lived and worked in and know what it has to offer.”

Mr Atkinson says that he so confident in the service at Bishops that clients will not be charged fees if their property doesn’t sell.
