ALMOST £1 million has been invested in a North Yorkshire food store in a move that has created seven new jobs.
The Co-op in Helmsley's Market Place has undergone as £925,000 refit and is due to open its doors today.
The shop features a new layout and an extra 600 sq ft of floor space.
Richard Horsewood, Co-op store manager, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment here in Helmsley, and we are really looking forward to serving the local community. Our ambition is to ensure the store is a local hub, a real asset for the community."
Caron Metcalfe, Co-op area manager, added: "The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum. Our ambition is to ensure the store is a local hub."
