A FORMER MI6 spy has been lined up to speak at this year’s York Professionals Annual Dinner.
The event, which is being held on May 24 at York Racecourse, will see Julian Fisher speak about the secretive world of espionage, secret dealings and illicit liaisons as he talks about his former life as a MI6 operational officer.
Mr Fisher was one of the lead trainers, known as “Control”, on the Channel 4 series Spies, which was broadcast in 2017.
Known only by his first name on the programme, Julian was identified publicly in an article published by the Radio Times.
Anne Taylor, chairwoman of York Professionals said: “I’m delighted to welcome Julian as our keynote speaker at this year’s annual dinner.
“The word ‘spies’ conjures up a myriad of secret keeping, disguises and behind closed doors liaisons. I can’t wait for the chance to find out what goes on behind the scenes and hear some of the tales first-hand in what will be a fascinating insight into the world of espionage. Just how do you get into the business of spying anyway?!”
