HOVINGHAM is celebrating its 100th market tomorrow.

The market, which has been running since October 2009, now has more than 55 outdoor and indoor stalls.

To celebrate the centenary, visitors will have the opportunity to win £200 worth of market vouchers and there will also be a celebration cake created by a collaboration of stallholders.

Market chairman Pete Stark said: “The market champions local food, art and crafts and is run entirely by volunteers. Local provenance is important to us and enables the market to be sustainable. We also support local groups who raise funds at the community cafe.”

Hovingham Village Market is held on the first Saturday of each month from February to December, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
