NORTH Yorkshire’s largest waste management company has retained a contract to handle waste generated by one of the UK’s top 20 ranked universities.
Yorwaste has entered into a new, five-year, £1.5 million contract to provide waste and recycling services on behalf of the University of York.
The University has taken up the option of extending the contract, which was won by Yorwaste following a competitive tendering exercise in 2015.
Yorwaste provides a general waste and mixed recycling collection and processing service for the University of York. This involves the collection of 6,500 dry mixed recycling, glass recycling and general waste bins across the University Campus
Gill Mulroe, Yorwaste commercial manager, said: “As the contract is very service specific we are delighted to have been awarded the contract until 2022. It is real testament to the crew who deliver this service day in, day out.”
